Description

Lightweight team building

The Anfibio Sigma TX is an ultralight packraft with double space, perfect for extended backpacking trips and adventure races including easy flowing rivers and lakes together with partners, children, dogs or any other big load hauling, hence ‘TX’ for Team Cross.

Configuration and outfit

The inner dimension of the boat with a length of 160cm and a width of 39cm offers enough space for two, but the outer dimensions are compact: the tube diameter tapers to 27cm at the side, the bow and stern (symmetrical) have a diameter of 50cm. The parallel hull has a width of 93cm with a total length of 260cm. In comparison to the models Alpha XC and Delta MX all dimensions have a bigger volume, thus provide increased buoyancy.

The boat comes with a inflatable seat with integrated backrests. A second seat can be puchased optional. The front seat has a variable position (backward or forward). However, to save weight and space one can also use baggage for seating (like dry bags, sleeping mats).

There are 6 tie-downs (2 at the stern, 4 at the bow) for example to secure luggage, to provide grab loops or to fasten a DeckPack. We apologize for any discrepancies in the number of grab loops on some of the pictures.

An optional inflatable floor mat is available for the Sigma TX. It stiffens the bottom resp. the entire hull, insulates against cold and wet and increases the seating position. Paddling comfort, handling characteristics, range of use and control of the packraft is improved. The floor is very much recommended. Please note however, the Anfibio WideSeat or seats of comparable dimensions do not harmonise well with the mat. The combination with the Anfibio PackSeat or Anfibio PackSeat light is recommended instead.

Material and workmanship

The Anfbio Sigma TX is made of special fabric (210/420 urethane nylon), which has a high tear and abrasion resistance despite its low weight. The smooth and shiny surface of the tube’s coating is particularly scratch resistant.

All the boat’s seams are fully welded and the tube seams are additionally sewn, making it a completely glue free construction. This saves weight, costs and the environment! We grant an extended 3-year warranty on materials and workmanship.

A special feature are the reinforced lower front and rear tube segments with panels of floor fabric to ensure higher robustness when having ground contact. However, as an ultralight boat, it should still be treated with the necessary care, especially when fully loaded.

Application

The Sigma TX is a true backpacking boat. Due to the interior space, it suits well to share it with a partner. Dog owners, hunters, fishermen and sailors will like it as a very large single boat for transporting very big loads.

It is perfect for passages on easy rivers and lakes. For short distances and less loaded (e.g. as a single) it is capable running wild and splashy waters.

Since the model does not feature a spray skirt and has a smaller tube diameter, it is not recommended for white water, especially when paddled by two.

Use

The boat is likewise paddled kayak or canoe style and is in?ated with a big nylon in?ation bag, which attaches to the boat via a screw-in valve.

No inflatable is indestructible of course, but in the (unlikely) event of sustaining damage, repairs can be done within a few minutes in the field with Patch`n Go, which bonds permanently to the urethane surface. Small pinholes can be sealed with Stormsure, a liquid urethane sealant.
